Osteopathy

World Health Organization (WHO) considers Osteopathy a health profession of primary intention and independent of other,and establishes the training access to it in your document “WHO Benchmarks for Training in Osteopathy”, published in 2010. Said document, defines the minimum training criteria for the practice of Osteopathy and establishes in turn and clearly, that Osteopathy is a primary and independent healthcare profession. Currently in Spain it is pending regulation.

Applications

Through different techniques, many problems can be treated and improved, such as; tendinitis, muscle tears, herniated discs, back pains, scoliosis ,atm, migraines, Headaches, Vertigo, Carpal tunnel, hiatal hernia, Reflux, asthma, painful periods, constipation, gases, fibromyalgia, infant colic…

Method

  • Interview: The most important thing is to know the how, when, where and why, in addition to the background and evolution of the problem.
  • General exploration: Neurological examination, muscular, vascular, visceral, orthopedic and ultrasound. What's more, a biomechanical study of the three-dimensional spine is performed.
  • Differential diagnosis in osteopathy: It is evaluated if osteopathic treatment is indicated or if a medical consultation is advisable.
  • Treatment: If the osteopath considers it appropriate, propose a treatment that can be more or less periodic depending on the type of problem, severity and chronicity.
